Mrs. Lee

4th

Students moving to fourth grade will continue to show what they know when they take the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) tests in the spring. Our fantastic fourth grade team, Mrs. Misty Light and Mrs. Suzanne Riley, help prepare students for the state tests in the areas of reading, math, and writing/English language arts.

Misty Light – Mrs. Light has spent the last three years here at NES, but she has a total of eight years experience in the classroom. She holds certifications for Grade 1-6 Generalist, 7-8 Social Studies, English as a Second Language, and Gifted/Talented. Although she teaches fourth grade for NES, she also has experience in fifth grade (science, reading, social studies), sixth grade (reading, language arts) and Gifted/Talented pull-out programs. Mrs. Light is an avid reader who enjoys tennis, basketball, shopping and cuddling up with her kitties. She and her husband James have three children, three dogs, three cats, and a guinea pig!

Suzanne Riley – Mrs. Riley is a Baylor Bear who graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. (In fact she’s just a few hours shy of a Master’s degree too!) This is her 30th year of a teaching career that has taken her from kindergarten through seventh grade, except for second. She holds certifications in elementary grades 1-8, reading grades 1-8, and early childhood. She and her husband Kip, who is also pastor of First Baptist Church Normangee, have two children … one still here in Normangee High and one in college at Baylor. Mrs. Riley loves living in a small community where you can be part of everything and know your neighbors. As for education, she believes it’s one of the most important things in life because it allows a person to do and see things they otherwise not be able to.
